In my weak moments, when my agnosticism loses its hard, radical edge and I allow myself to ponder the nature of God ... I am most drawn to the idea of a God who has an infinite, all-penetrating sense of humor. We arrive in the Hereafter and God is wiping away the tears, and we sort of say in a small guilty voice "but what about ..." and He dismisses it all with a huge laugh-and-hug that says we're Home. You know how we crack up at a guilty toddler's peccadilloes? Magnify that. We're obsessed with sin and guilt, and imo that is an unfortunate artifact of the black robes. Hell is about those who can't laugh.
