Paul, about the DRAM situation today and similarity to the mid 80's, I posted a thought similar to yours over on the Micron thread a couple of months ago. I mentioned about Mostek doing well for a while in the 16K and 64K days and look what happened to them, and, just possibly, could history repeat itself with MU being the Mostek of the 90's. Man, did I get flamed! The devotees of MU at the time didn't want to hear anything negative. Now, on the Micron thread, postings are way way down and the remaining fans seem mostly numb. It does seem amazing to me how many people didn't see the handwriting on the wall. Memory prices had stayed up with no reductions, for, what, 2-1/2 years? That was unprecedented and had to change. It was ridiculous that the cost of the DRAM part of your average config. PC was higher than the CPU! Not any more!! Tony
