Barry, >>>Anyone else see the interview?<<<
I did and I felt pretty much the same way you feel. Intel is positioning itself as well, if not much better than any other company to take advantage of the Internet economy.
Intel's strategy is much more coherent and synergistic than Cisco, Lucent, AT&T or even MSFT. If you take out chances because of luck, and if planning has anything to do with it, Intel has the complete package. Except however, in the PR department.
(I know I'm going to get a lot of flack from the techies on this thread for my soft science approach to investing, but): Otellini didn't project the same kind of media savvy bs confidence that a Chambers, Armstrong, Gerstner, Dell, or even the nerdy Gates projects. Forget about Jack Welch - he gets treated as if he were God himself.
Otellini and Intel just do not get the same respect, even though they have a much better balance sheet. They couldn't even spell Otellini's name correctly.
