I just hope people continue to be prepared after Y2K. It is nice to see the occasional yuppie and others I'm not familiar with out at the gun ranges getting accustomed to their new, out of the box "Assualt Weapons" like AR-15s and Minis. I'm not too worried about looting, riot or societal breakdown. I don't live in LA! I live in a nice, small (1500 people) church going community in the heart of Iowa. I'm about as safe as you can be in case of a cataclysmic disaster. I don't need open fields of fire at my home, if anybody came into town rioting or shooting, I and a couple hundred other irate citizens would driven them off. Most of the church'es in town have had preparedness meetings, and several of them have formed emergency militas, just in case something does happen. But, I feel that people should keep 3-6 months food, and several thousand rounds of ammunition on hand at all times anyway, not just for Y2K. There are a myriad of potential disasters out there, and Y2K breakdown is one of the most benign and unlikely.
