The distinction is very important Terrence. I think that you are
mistaken. It is more likely that we are the only
intelligent life in this galaxy that we can communicate with.
There are many reasons for this. Of course it all remains
little more than speculation in the end and so I am all
for an active search, but the point is that you can
be rational and still believe that there is no one out
there that we can talk to.
