The latest Technology Review lists 100 "Young Innovators" (I guess I'm too old <g>) among them Frederick Kish from HP: techreview.com Re: PPV LEPs After reading the CDT Applied Physics Letter I realize that like most cutting edge work there is a lot of "stupid mindless engineering" to do before it'll see the light of day, so to speak. <g> The LEPs don't like oxygen for one thing. I guess my hope of a Gee-Whiz kit for kids and the general population will have to wait for more robust polymers. What a cool kit it would be though!! Luminescing artwork that could be made to change color or shape, or luminescing pictures (as long as it didn't have to change it would be relatively easy, no matrix connections). The only thing expensive would be the electronics to drive it, but that could be worked on. JF
