you sound like a Charles Schwab manager.Patsy.. to all: what was rumoured to be a Fidelity tech stock shuffling can be confirmed in the stock's volatility today. LET ME TELL YOU A SECRET-------if you want to see where fidelity is deploying their crooked money. check the movement of IBM. today, IBM went 4 points under and rebounded to close a little bit higher after the interest rate (bond yeild) and economy growth hype. this was followed by a steep drop in the past few days. what does it tell you? fidelity HAS a large cash position. SINCE, t-bonds went down to a weekly low. I doubt fidelity deployed money into bonds as much as into cash position. however, the long-bond (10 year) sounds very suspicous. i believe the l-bond and cash reserve are in close relation at fidelity. whenever they increase cash position, they buy a certain percentage of long bonds (as opposed to t-bonds). when economy looks good -- retail stocks technology stocks consumer electronic stocks cyclicals where is Cube in the middle of all these action ? ? take your pick. by the way---I currently hold very large short position of cube. I held it since the TDK/TI news (sold them at $47.5-48) and I plan to cover next week. WHIP ME WHIP ME p.s. check out volatility premium on tech stocks.
