LOL! Now that's a convenience! "climb one of the mountains"
THREAD--A random thought on handsets. The manufacturers want to control handset rollout partly because of the cost of starting and stopping a line. They want--
(1) to produce on a just-in-time basis, so there is no inventory hangover when any new model is ready to go, and (2) to raise production just to the level it will run at on an ongoing basis. Thus, they begin running at 10,000 per months, then increase to 20,000 when they're sure the demand is there, then 30,000, . . . eventually getting to a 50,000 running rate perhaps, once they are convinced that the demand for 50,000 will be continuing. We've got a series of "demand" hurdles to overcome, I expect.
