Tracy, Hi!

I have been trying to help a friend get set up with a MAC for VON. Apple does not make it easy. I called their tech support people and was told they had no idea, that they only worked software problems.

What flavor MAC do you have. They changed MIC jacks several times between models.

I think you can just get a cheap Dynamic MIC from some place like Radio Shack or Best Buy that would work ( Dynamic 600 ohm $7-$20). The problem between most "headsets" and the MAC is that they use an electret Mic that requires phantom power from the computer. This is where the jack configuration comes in.

If you call 1-800SOS-APPL you can get a phone number for a local (to you) MAC users group. They may be able to help, and tell you what jack configuration you have and what you need to get!

There is a Company called JABRA that make a specific product designed for voice communications with the MAC. It is not cheap ( about $90). I have one that I use with my PC and I like it! Their phone number is 800-327-7466
If I can help further please E-Mail me direct at ppasteur@interealm.com
