One of the main unfocused problems for the last 6 years has been the ability of Franklin to prepare for the uncertain future. They thought the paradigm shift was a set of packets so they devised a plan to build around them.
When major corporation decisions are being made about the often surprising future, one only needs to look back at IBM-PCs, AT&T-Internet, and way.....back with Japan verses the US auto.
So the question lies, why are decision makers caught unaware ?
I don't think enough scenario's within a wide range of matters that involve a wild imagination is taking place. Of course its always logicall thinking that sets a seed to grow. But without a wild imagination behind the researched-seed, and keeping pace from the company CIO, predictibility shows up. In my opinion, thats one of the problems that has faced FCM, the predictiveness within the "round table" of discussions. They don't have a good Chief Information Officer that builds through his creative entrepreneur talents.!!!!!!!
The scenario's I intrust from undiscovered links would be blindsided if it wasn't for pushing the limits of one's thinking.
Take for instance the storage of photographs within companies like photonet.com and photoloft.com The companies here have yet to tap into a huge revenue source but guess what partnerships could arise from a rigorous analysis?
When homeowners store this pictures of weddings, trips, home items for inventory, this featue would help. Lets say you have the contents of your home stored at one of these sights. You want to sell the dinette set at e-bay, but would like to make the transition of getting your items there simple. Ok, there would be an icon on the photonet page for e-bay. Once you drag the picture onto the icon, a page from e-bay comes up the picture is automatically logged, and all you have to do is fill out the form just right below the picture. Name, address, catagory, and all important information. This would be a nice way for company's like photonet and photoloft to make a few cents on a contingency fee. hmmmm? : )
See idea's that lead into partnerships (that the partner is unaware of) gets noticed. Get someone attention, then hammer out a few contracts. But since technology idea's out race inter-relatd concept idea's, franklin needs to regroup within themselves.
