PHON-NET.COM announces submission of
patent application for its DIRECT CONNECT
SOFTWARE, and the expansion of its distribution channels to the U.S.,
Canada, Australia and New Zealand
SEATTLE, Nov. 17 /CNW-PRN/ - PHON-NET.COM (OTC Bulletin Board: PNET - news) is pleased to
announce that it has submitted an application seeking patent protection for its proprietary PHON-NET DIRECT
CONNECT software with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Subsequent to the filing,
PHON-NET.COM has received a letter of Patent Pending and the Patent Serial No. 09/248,200.
PHON-NET.COM also announced that it had entered into an agreement with Wazzu Corporation for the
non-exclusive right to market PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT in the United States, as well as an agreement with
Transcontinental Group Ltd. for exclusive distribution rights throughout Canada. In related announcements,
PHON-NET.COM also reported that it has entered into discussions that would expand product penetration in the
United States' market and gain access to the New Zealand and Australian markets.
PHON-NET.COM's alliance with Wazzu enables all businesses listed in Wazzu's Interactive Business Directory to
include a PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT icon on their Web site. Consumers can search for a business in their
community and call the business from the Internet, using their telephone. This technology makes Web pages 100%
user-friendly and interactive, and PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT software icons create substantial value for
business listed with the Interactive Business Directory and Wazzu.
PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT, used in conjunction with Wazzu's Interactive Business Directory, provides a
unique and interactive service to consumers and businesses, and an alternative to consumers' Internet security
concerns. PHON-NET.COM has invoiced Wazzu $2.475 million (US), to be paid based upon licenses purchased by

PHON-NET.COM has entered into a license agreement with Transcontinental Group Ltd. (TSE: GRTb - news), a
Canadian corporation, and licensed exclusive Canadian distribution rights for PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT
software to Transcontinental. Transcontinental, which is based in Montreal, publishes and markets interactive Internet
and print media business directories, newspapers and flyers. Transcontinental and its strategic partners will jointly
market AdBag.ca, a cooperative venture established to market Internet-related products. The bundling of
PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT with AdBag.ca will enable the cooperative to offer an e-business and
e-commerce solution to Internet merchants desiring to establish interactive, on-line contact with their customers. In
addition to integration of AdBag.ca with PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT, Transcontinental will market
PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT directly to its customer base.
PHON-NET.COM has also received written confirmation that Brocker Technology Group (TSE: BKIto - news), a
publicly held New Zealand corporation, desires to acquire licenses to market PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT in
New Zealand and Australia. Brocker has established relationships with Telecom New Zealand and Telstra in
Australia, that will enable it to reach a large segment of the New Zealand and Australian market for PHON-NET
DIRECT CONNECT.
PHON-NET.COM has also entered into a letter of intent with Volt Information Sciences, Inc. (NYSE: VOL - news)
to establish a joint venture or other contractual relationship. Volt, with executive offices located in New York City, is a
leading national provider of staffing services, telecommunications and information solutions and electronic publication,
including telephone directories. The relationship will exploit the synergies between the PHON-NET SEARCH
ENGINE WITH DIRECT CONNECT and Volt's directory of United States business listings and other business
database directories. This arrangement will provide Volt, or the joint venture to be established, with exclusive rights to
the PHON-NET SEARCH ENGINE WITH DIRECT CONNECT for use in connection with United States business
database directories (except the Wazzu limited distribution agreement).
PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT is a new ``plug-in' that allows a visitor to an Internet web site to establish
telephone contact with the web site operator or merchant, while continuing to view the web site; the computer's
modem connection is not disconnected during a Direct Connect telephone call. A license fee is charged to the web site
owner or merchant. The service is free to consumers. PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT eliminates the need for the
transmission of personal and credit card information over the Internet and the consumer needs no extra hardware or
special training to use PHON-NET DIRECT CONNECT. Questions can be asked and orders can be placed using
the security of the consumer's telephone. When combined with the PHON-NET SEARCH ENGINE, consumers can
search for a specific business or a specific type of business, and when the business is identified, PHON-NET
DIRECT CONNECT can establish telephone contact between the consumer and business.
