Not single-handedly Pete! There are lots of people on the planet interested and supportive of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Many, about half the population don't quite 'get it'. Not surprising when you look at the hunter-gatherer, fight-for-territory and resources, evolutionary history of humans. Cargo-cult mentality is never far from the surface.

How about the OPEC monopoly - a genuine, price-fixing, consumer gouging, conspiracy against the American motorist and oil user. Does the USA government attack the assets in the USA of these criminals? No? Oh, how interesting. Must be happy for that vast transfer of wealth from Americans to others for some subtle reason. Have you noticed Dubai Crude now $24 per barrel. Up from $9 a year ago. Get ready for the stock market crunch. It's coming [I know, I know, I've been predicting the second coming since June, but be patient].
Personally, I don't mind if OPEC is stupid enough to price-fix by cutting production. I can always go into the oil business and dig my own well. Software users can always produce their own operating systems and other stuff if they don't like Microsoft's.
The oil from a new well won't be as cheap as Saudi's and just when your well is complete, they are likely to slash their price and boost production to shut you down. Your software won't be as cheap or good as Microsoft's either.
Seriously, do you think Microsoft pays those multithousands of the smartest people they can find on earth to sit around picking their noses? Those people will doing REALLY smart things and making great software.
They do NOT want to make bad stuff.
