Red Hat to license RSA Security software for Linux

NEW YORK, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Security software maker RSA
Security Inc. said on Friday Red Hat Inc. ,
will license RSA technology for use in one of the Linux
software packages it offers.
Red Hat, the best known distributor of Linux, an
alternative to the Microsoft Windows operating system, will use
RSA's "BSafe" SSL-C software in Red Hat's Linux "Professional
Edition" product.
The two companies will work together to improve the
security features of Red Hat's software, and are planning joint
marketing programs for their respective products and services
to improve security across the Linux operating system.
"Red Hat is pleased to expand our strategic partnership
with RSA Security," Robert Young, Red Hat's chairman and chief
executive. "Our use of RSA Security's e-security technologies
in our products will help position Red Hat Linux as one of the
world's most secure platforms for conducting e-commerce."
