Do we agree ? Not at ALL :-} The word ALL !

We do agree about many things but not about ALL about this we do not, unfortunately, agree...

When a man is DRAWN unto Jesus He is SAVED... some may be attracted and yet not saved but not all men are saved.

You keep highlighting ALL

Monu you need to see that ALL can be used in various ways that do not mean everyone !

Look:

Matthew 2:3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Does that mean absolutely ever individual in Jerusalem... or a large number of those who were in power..In this instance ALL means a majority of those in power.. surely the prostitutes and drunks could care less... Much less the Roman soldiers stationed there.. Go see it Monu. Go see it for yourself in the BIBLE !

Are you back ?... A good student of the scripture always looks at verses in CONTEXT !

Here's another all:

Acts 21:31 And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

Was EVERY person in Jerusalem in an uproar or is that the way it was reported...

It's like this... You miss a party.. So you ask a friend " Hey how was the party last night.."
He says "OH it was great ALL his friends came EVERYBODY was there it was huge !"

You know that he does not mean ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE in the WORLD .. you weren't there and you may even ask another friend of his if he went even after this report that ALL his friend were there because you realize the statement was not an ABSOLUTE..

There is ALL inclusive and ALL exclusive.

Allow me to explain... ( such manners from such an old warrior :-} )

There is a long line up at the theatre... You miss the first showing and the line is still long... You begin to worry if you and your friend will get in ! An Usher comes back counting the people in the line up.. You ask... Will all my friends get in ???

He says YES ! NO problem you will all get in.

Did he mean the people at the end of the line ??? NO he said all but he was asked about you and your friend and THAT was the CONTEXT !

He means ALL conclusive of those referred to but exclusive of those at the end of the line !

But look something else can happen

You and your friend get to the front of the line and one of your friends discovers that he has lost his ticket.

Can that friend then say to the usher .. Hey You promised we would ALL get in ?? NO because everyone understood that by all there were still CONDITIONS and that being that when he said ALL he meant ALL those who have a TICKET (hint - or believe maybe )

The ALL was exclusive to those who did not have a ticket. ( hint - or a wedding robe maybe )

Lets look at some more ALL's since you can see that ALL does not alway express an ABSOLUTE !

===== This is the one you asked about ! =====

1 Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Here it says ALL MEN but then says ESPECIALLY the Believers !

This ALL does mean ABSOLUTELY ever individual in the world.. but how can that be if not everyone is SAVED !

So then there must be a difference in QUALITY of Saving if one kind of saving is better than the other ! It could not mean QUANTITY

Can you suggest what this might mean ??? Being saved but not saved ? I've done most of the work for you . what do you think it might be ??

Here's another ALL

1 John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

Those who have the unction know all things..

Do I know everything ?? People think I think I do but this does not mean everything that one could ever know about God because the scriptures say..

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

One verse says we know ALL things the other says we do not !

You can type ALL in big letters or even make it look like this ALL It will never mean All inclusive it must mean that we know All exclusive.. excluding everything that does not need to be known to be saved !

We know all thing necessary top be saved !... that is what was meant:

1 John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

We do know all thing that pertain to eternal life but not all thing about everything everywhere at every time That would be ABSOLUTE KNOWLEDGE and only God knows that !

it's your lucky night... Here's another one you asked about

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Go read the verses before this to see what the CONTEXT is.

The Lord is not slack.. that is what the verse is all about not about God loving everyone in the whole world.. This verse is in answer to people who are saying.. " As slow as the second coming "

This verse is in answer to SCOFFERS those who HATE GOD !
It is in answer to - but not written to... It is written to the ELECT about the ELECT and about the sorry state of those who failed to repent when God LONGSUFFERED the WICKED for Noah while he built the ark. ( it took 100 years to build )

God was Longsuffering to those wicked but He was not in any false hope that they would repent... He intended to destroy them from the start and saved Noah alone to Glorify Himself in Righteous Judgement. Was Noah some great Guy.. He loved his wine too much...no he too was sinful .. He was saved by Grace and God's Favour Alone ! Did God overlook Noahs sin.. NO! - He look forward to the sacrifice of his own son Jesus.
Did Jesus die for those who drowned.. Monu I hope your kidding.

Jesus MUST BE LIFTED UP and draw ALL kinds of men unto Him.

You will protest that I "add" kinds but look...

1Tim 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Does this verse teach That GOD WILL have all men saved ???

No we know all men are not going to be saved..

Does this verse teach that GOD wishes all men were saved ?

That is what men teach... Lets look at the CONTEXT !

What is the verse actually addressing.. Lets look a few verse earlier..

1 Tim 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

Does this verse teach that Christians should get on their knees and Pray " Oh please God save everyone ??"

Why don't you pray that if that is what you believe ???

No This verse teach that we should pray for all kinds of men Jew and Greek Rich and Poor Kings and small..

Look.. I'm not lying to you Monu..

1Tim 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

FOR KINGS.. Paul is dealing with WRONG concepts many men suffer.. Anyone with money is damned. All Pharasees go to hell sorry Nicodemus !! NOT ! All kinds of men can be saved look :

1 Corinthians 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

It's says NOT MANY but it does not say NOT ANY !!!

All kinds of men are saved but not all men are saved !
Many people believe that Governors and such could not be saved... That is not true indeed Paul had to tell them outright to pray for KINGS and Rulers more than once.

The CONTEXT is about men IN AUTHORITY and PRAYER and SALVATION

1 Tim 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

... all men to be saved even Kings and those in authority.

This verse does not teach that God tries to save everyone !

You see Highlighting the word all does not change what God meant when He spoke that verse. You can make it fit your system if you want. I lose nothing. You lose what God meant by all when He spoke it... Have your system or have the truth... If the spirit is working in you , you are not going to get away from what I am teaching no matter how you feel or think.. You will bow the Knee to what God say's in the Word sooner or later...

.Times UP .Guess it's Later for now :-}
