No, Joan, I have not. I have not had the time or financial security, for most of my life....Why should we educate anyone, or help them to economic development, or interfere in their vendettas and ritual clitorectemies and foot- bindings and whatnot? After all, their traditional cultures cannot be sustained under the onslaught, only tokens of the displaced customs and values of their pre-modern ways. That is the way it goes. We no longer wear powdered wigs and dance the minuet.....Schlock is schlock. But apparently, a lot of them think it is an improvement on the local culture. They may be deluded, but I am not in a sufficient position to judge.....
