<<This smoke and mirrors CNBC soundbyte market is truly working some magic.>>
That is the only reason I can't buy into the "Y2k will be pure HELL" line. It's not that I don't think there will be VERY BIG Y2k problems, I just believe this broad market & the overall population is so totally controlled via the media, nothing may matter.
I've been rolling this over in my head for about a week, and came to understand how this whole thing is ?really? working.
When things "go wrong" in the world today:
1. the media ignores the problem if the administration wants them to do so 2. the administration ignores the problem 3. the administration lies about the problem 4. the conservative or contrarian media begins to report the problem 5. time passes 6. studies are done 7. the matter is referred to a committee 8. the problem is declared "fixed" or 9. the problem is declared to be so old "it no longer matters". or 10. the problem is blamed on: a) the "great conservative conspiracy" b) Republicans c) milita or 11. a war is started
I'm not sure even the "truth" can beat this bunch. When the media, the big money, the President, the Secret Service, The Justice Dept., the FBI, the ATF, the IRS, and near 30% of the population are all wrong, they become "right" due to power. The dynamics of the overall power structure must somehow become altered, at the very BASE, for any possible "win".
When we next have an election - or as our next election draws neigh - the dynamics of the power base may change. I'm not sure even truth can now win.
I've given up on near everything except hard work & prayer, with even the rewards of these falling into question. |
