***CTI CONFERENCE BIG SUCCESS WITH PHYSICIANS***
November 18, 1999 07:00 AM Eastern Time
LAYTON, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1999--

Physicians Discuss Latest System Improvements

Computerized Thermal Imaging Inc. (COII) announced today that the company met with principal investigators from the five clinical test sites of its breast imaging system on Saturday, November 13 in Miami Beach.

The meeting was hosted by Dr. Manuel Viamonte, Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Miami Beach. Mt. Sinai is one of five hospitals across the US participating in clinical trials of CTI's breast imaging system, which is designed to distinguish benign from malignant breast lesions.

This is the first time that physicians from all of CTI's clinical sites have been together at one time to confer. Clinical trial status was reviewed and activities underway to expand those clinical trials were discussed. Results of the current image analysis software were also presented and discussed. This software update, the culmination of many months of effort, contains several significant improvements. Physicians also had their first view of how the CTI test results will be presented.

"Physician input is critical to our success," David Packer, company president, stated. "Although we have a wonderfully engineered device, confirmation by the physicians of its usability is most gratifying. This conference was a big success by all measures."

CTI technology uses a sophisticated heat sensitive digital camera to record an image of the heat produced by breast tissue. A CTI breast scan takes approximately four minutes, is painless and involves no exposure to radiation, breast compression, electrodes or electrical current. CTI is seeking FDA approval for use of its breast imaging system as an adjunct to mammography.
