I must beg to differ. If the controversy was forced by the "fact cooking" and fraud committed by the plaintiff and her lawyers this also violates basic legal principles concerning legal standing, ripeness and justiciability. Moreover, such fast and loose tactics breeds a certain contempt for the rule of law and perhaps plays into a skepticism about our legal system which is at least partially responsible for the fact that we now have a perjurer and obstructor of justice in a civil rights case still sitting in the WH long after it is clear that is exactly what has happened.
