I am WAY long ONT, but worried that expectations for On2's technology may be too high. Full screen, TV-quality video is quite a claim, and would be a quantum leap over current technology. But I'm expecting those claims to be at least a little overblown. The people I know who've seen the technology say it will blow people away, but they are wayer long than even I am, and obviously biased.
That's the real key to the stock's short-term future as far as I see -- how much better the technology is than that currently available. But even On2 admits that their longer-term future isn't in the technology (since their lead, if it truly exists, will eventually vanish), but in how to make money on the content.
(I've got an idea on that score, but need about $10 million to implement it. Oh well, maybe in the next life...)
Appreciate the informed input on this board. Let's get some more life into it -- Yahoo's board is very active, but truly sucks. |
