Solunet, the Nation's Premier Telecom Var, to Resell Interspeed's Complete Family of DSL Access Routers

INTERSPEED'S INTEGRATED, Single-Box Architecture
Helps Solunet Speed Sales Cycles While Minimizing Customer Support

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., Nov 18, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --
Interspeed, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISPD) today announced that Solunet, Inc., the
nation's leading value added reseller (VAR) of switching and networking
equipment to service providers, will market its complete family of
high-speed Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Access Routers (DSLARs) to
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Competitive Local Exchange
Carriers (CLECs).

Under terms of the agreement, Solunet will resell the Interspeed DART,
the Interspeed 500, and the Interspeed 1000. In addition, Solunet will
also provide front-line support for its customers deploying
Interspeed's products via their Soluserve services product offering.

According to Solunet, the single-box architecture of Interspeed's
DSLARs allows the company to speed its sales cycle because, unlike
competing component products, Interspeed's products include everything
required to offer DSL services. In addition, Interspeed's integrated
products reduce the potential points of failure on a network, virtually
eliminating the need for Solunet to provide time-consuming and
expensive customer support. By offering the complete Interspeed DSLAR
product family, Solunet can meet service providers' complete DSL access
needs, ranging from an 8-port in-building application to a 192-port
Central Office deployment.

The relationship with Solunet is the second in several steps Interspeed
is taking to create an indirect distribution channel targeting the
world's leading service providers. In June, Interspeed announced a
worldwide reseller agreement with Cabletron Systems to address the
Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) market.

"In March, Solunet created a TELCO/CLEC division to offer the
industry's best products directly to ISPs and CLECs," said Mike
Wertheimer, president of Solunet. "What we've found is that
unintelligent DSLAMs, which require additional subscriber management
boxes and routers, are exceedingly difficult to deploy. Interspeed's
single-box, intelligent DSLARs are not only less expensive, but they
are also virtually plug and play, allowing our customers to immediately
begin generating revenue."

According to Steve Ide, president of Interspeed, "Solunet is
unquestionably the nation's leading reseller of telecom equipment to
ISPs and CLECs. We believe that this agreement will significantly
expand the market potential for Interspeed's advanced DSL platforms.
Furthermore, it validates our contention that a single-box
incorporating complete routing, switching and subscriber management
capabilities is a cost-effective solution for service providers."

About the Interspeed DSLARs Interspeed offers three DSLARs. The
Interspeed DART is the industry's first complete, low-density DSL
solution that enables service providers to deliver high-speed Internet
access and other advanced IP applications to the stand-alone
professional office market. The Interspeed 500 is designed for larger
MTU and campus environment deployments. The Interspeed 1000 is ideal
for central office applications. All three products include complete
DSL aggregation, Layer 2 switching, IP Routing, and VPN functions in a
single device, thus eliminating the need for service providers to
purchase these components separately, and saving significant cost.

The three DSLARs are managed with Speedview(TM); a powerful set of
administration and management functions that make installation as
simple as "plug and play." Speedview is a management interface that
uses an embedded, secure http server enabling complete system
management and configuration from a standard Web browser. A text-based
command line interface is also available. The application conforms to
the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to support dedicated
network management software platforms.
