DD report from Las Vegas Nevada and the Venetian hotel, A premiere site for a branch of Toys International:
Having recently Returned from attended COMDEX in Las Vegas, and with the IPO less than 24 hours away, I felt it was important to let everyone know just what a class act this company is.
First the Hotel: The Venetian is located on the strip in Las Vegas Close to Ceasars, Bellaggio, Paris, Mandalay Bay, and other top resorts. The Hotel itself is most impressive. Frescos on the ceilings, Marble floors, and IT IS HUGE!! Definitely the most luxurious and best appointed hotel on the strip. You have to see it to believe it. According to a hotel employee the hotel is at 90% occupancy nearly all the time, and they are building a new wing with 3000+ more rooms.
Location of Toys international: As you enter the "Market Place" you ascend the escalator to the "Grand Foyer" and immediately you see Toys International. This is a premiere location, The best in the hotel and our little toy store has got it. Everyone entering the "Marketplace" from the street, and casino has to walk by Toys International. We visited the store twice once at 10:30 am and again at about 5:20 p.m.. Both times the store was busy. At 10:30 there was about 20 customers with 2-3 in line to check out. It was much busier in the afternoon with 40+ customers, and 4+ in line at 2 registers.
The Store: It looked to have about 4000 +- square feet of retail display area, and was very nicely appointed. The Interior was bright and inviting with large toy displays beckoning to the children. They have everything from Star Wars to Furbies. No low end trash here, only good top quality merchandise, both the new modern toys, and many collectable items in display cases. The prices are good as well, no bargain basement here, but fair prices and top quality. Looks like a good healthy profit margin on their merchandise.
Summary: I was very impressed with both the shop and the location. It shows that the management of PLAYCO is really looking ahead to get this great spot in this quality location. I am Looking forward to the IPO tomorrow and the companies prospects beyond look quite good. |
