A British Foreign Office Minister, Peter Hain, has announced that Britain will offer scholarships worth two-hundred-thousand dollars a year to Indian information technology workers.

Speaking during a visit to the southern Indian state of Karnatka, he said those selected would be trained by British experts in managerial and business skills.

He said the the British government will announce further details of various investments which it plans to make in India's silicon valley in Karnataka after a team of trade experts visits India, probably next year.
