I agree. I have thought about it a lot since law school. I used to think that my BEST protection was being a strict constructionist- but now I do not thinks so. I took a good hard look at WHO the strict constructionists were and WHAT they believed- and for my own self interest I have to say I prefer the Supreme Court the way it is. Looking back on the decisions- most of them are good, and livable and make sense(there have been some mistakes- big ones- like women and the right to vote, and the Dread Scott decision- but fewer mistakes than other bodies of government make- they are wiser and more judicial and I approve of them much more often then I approve of anyone else ). So on balance that is my decision- but other people, with other interests could come to very different conclusions. Those are the people I want to be protected from.
