<<You chastise Pat for worring about manipulation and then say it actually happens?>>
Firstly, I certainly was not trying to single Pat out as the sole culprit. A lot of people were grasping at straws for the reasons the stock has taken such a beating.
And yes, MMs manipulate stocks in a big way, that is their job. I never meant to imply otherwise in the first part of that post. But they do not manipulate a stock this far.
Institutions and other large investors can pull strings, MMs can manipulate prices (and the public), and short sellers affect stock price. But when you continue to reiterate these excuses for an elongated period of time, you should look for deeper reasons.
Good luck all,
Steve
p.s. The MMs are controlled by the institutions with the money. If an institution has 1 million shares of XYZ stock and wants to get out, they are not going to say to their goons, "dump all shares today". They are going to say, sell some, let it come back a little, sell some, sell some more, let the panic start, buy some to confuse everyone, let the public think things have changed, sell some, sell some, you get the idea. MM manipulation is a sign they are doing something with it. We are not powerful to stop it, it is best to let them run their course and look for a real sign the bleeding is over. IMHO if AMTX breaks 9 3/8, the bleeding is over. |
