Pat,

Lutz was brought in to do a job.

He didn't do it.

He was fired.

While I have no first hand evidence, some posters here believe that NN was losing an abnormal number of staff during Lutz's tenure. If that's true, then he had to go before NN's IP walked out the door.

The posters have some credibility as I've heard Lutz on a conference call declare that "they'll achieve my objectives, or their heads will roll". [my paraphrasing, not his precise words]

The Attila the Hun approach to managing people has never worked in IP heavy companies and probably never will.

Besides the fact that NN no longer has Alan Lutz as an employee, what competitive threats exist today that didn't exist a month ago?

i.e. - NN's prospects are just as good today as they were last month. NN's customers could care less whether or not Lutz is COO. And if the emerging products are destined for the much anticipated success, the street will follow.

I do agree that NN's price is not likely to move up sharply prior to credibility being firmly established.

FWIW,
Ian.
