I remain cautiously optimistic about NMO's long-term prospects.

I see "the exclusive 30-year rights to Pabst Blue Ribbon in China commencing November 2003" as the ace in their sleeve. These rights, if they are all they appear, give NMO strong bargaining power with their Chinese partners (in the Noble and Northern breweries).

That said, NMO's attaining its true potential hinges on Pennal's negotiating skills.

Personally, I own the convertible debentures and am comfortable holding them until maturity.

I'm not sure how large the write-off could be. I'd have to go back and check, but I don't think that those breweries had been written off completely.
