Anacomp Visibility Soars Following Xplor '99

Twenty Conference Sessions and Live Demonstrations Generate Industry Interest

In Anacomp's Newest Internet-Based Service Offering

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), a leading application service provider (ASP) for digital document-management outsource services, generated excitement and demonstrated industry leadership with live, online demonstrations of its Internet Document Services(SM) at Xplor International's Global Conference and Exhibit which ended November 5 in Los Angeles, CA.

In addition to the live demonstrations, Anacomp customers, management, and technical experts presented at multiple conference sessions throughout the week, which started with Anacomp's Joint Technology Council (JTC) Partner Session on Monday, November 1. "We had an overwhelmingly positive response to our JTC session," noted Ralph W. Koehrer, Anacomp's president and chief executive officer. "People really want to know where this company is going and how we're going to get there. The live demonstration of Internet Document Services showed clearly that Anacomp is using the Internet now to deliver and store documents for our customers. Xplor gave us the opportunity to deliver our message in a powerful and compelling forum."

Gemma M. Burns, EDPP, of New England Financial and Anacomp's JTC user chairperson, said, "Anacomp is clearly demonstrating that it is providing document solutions built on leading-edge web-based technology. Their high profile at Xplor reinforced their leadership position in, and commitment to, this market. If anyone had doubts about Anacomp's ability to do Internet document delivery, the customer presentations and the expertise of the company's management and technology teams clearly showed that Anacomp is listening to our input and using it to successfully transition from a leading microfiche outsourcer to a world-class provider of Web-based document delivery solutions."

"We have been following Anacomp for some time," explained Mark Levin, Managing Director of Imperial Capital, LLC. "We believe this company has the capabilities and experience to provide Internet document delivery on a large scale. During the past several months, Anacomp has more clearly defined its strategy and position in the marketplace and Xplor offered Anacomp an opportunity to communicate its strategy and demonstrate its technology to a key audience."

Mark Weber, Director of External Enterprise Management for American Express and an Anacomp customer and Xplor speaker said, "Working with Anacomp to implement our online document delivery capabilities has been a very positive experience and we were pleased to have the opportunity to discuss the application at Xplor. Moving forward, American Express views our partnership with Anacomp as an important part of our overall document-management strategy."
