I don't know how much of a threat that VIA will be to Intel but Intel is in a much better position to fight off competition than AMD because AMD is financially weak. Have you looked at AMD's Balance Sheet lately? You should.

As far as understanding market dynamics is concerned, I have had savvy enough to stay clear of AMD.
