Looking for comments from anyone on the thread: re income tax on Canadian Options.
Question to anyone, How does Revenue Canada treat profits and losses from trading in options. Is it fair to assume that if you purchase call options in 1999 in an equity and sell it in 1999 at a profit, than the profit is taxable in 1999. But if you sell it in 2000 than the profits are taxable in 2000. Are you allowed to write off other losses in options against the profits in any year.
