Greg and all;

My take on things as far as the last mile is concerned is as follows:

1) Residential customers will rely on cable/dsl for the most part in the near term. In the long term we must be looking at direct fibre to the curb - nothing will ever compare to light for speed and power.

2) For mobile business and personal use HDR will fit the ticket and will become huge when it becomes available.

3) WRT VOFDM and its various flavours - my understanding is that its primary application is in connecting businesses and buildings where dsl/cable is neither feasible nor secure enough.

Does any of this ring true - tech types - please feel free to tear apart my suppositions.
