I think VIA's solutions will capture some market shares in developing countries as well as in the US as second or third home computer. As the world wide PC market continues to expand rapidly in the forseable future, INTC and AMD will still have lion's shares with fat profits. I am still not convinced that fabless firms can reach major league status in the microprocessor business. I don't think VIA can afford a world class fab even with the support from its parent company, Formosa Plastics. Also remember that most talented Taiwanese engineers are still living in the US. Without a huge home market, a world class fab and R&D talents, I can't imagine a magic that can lift VIA to threat INTC and AMD well beings.
