A (short) story....
Well, it wasn't too long ago while Maurice was gallivanting around the world, that this thread was fairly musically oriented... so maybe this will give someone a laugh...
I'm driving home tonight, and listening to the Rush Roll the Bones CD, when the second song seems to be the "Ode of the QCOM shorts"... see what you think... I've included a translation... my apologies in advance to Neil Peart...
From the Rush, Roll the Bones CD, second track...
Bravado (Lyrics by Neil Peart) Qualcomm stock daytrading translation
If we burn our wings (Veiled reference to holding naked options Flying too close to the sun near expiration?)
If the moment of glory (Dang this stock is volatile!! Up 150, Is over before it's begun down 70, up 30, ....)
If the dream is won -- (I gotta buy this dip, but I'm all out of Though everything is lost dry powder!)
We will pay the price, (Time to use my kid's college tuition to But we will not count the cost cover my shorts...)
----
When the dust has cleared (Looks like the houses were taking And victory denied out stop losses in the last hour...)
A summit too lofty (Got ahead of ourselves...Calling the top, River a little too wide need to go back and fill a gap..)
If we keep our pride -- (Yikes!! Cover those shorts, Q just bounced Though paradise is lost up 40 pts.!!)
We will pay the price, (For the love of God.. look at the But we will not count the cost premium on those options.....!)
---
And if the music stops (QCOM stock halted... handset div. There's only the sound of the rain sold... do I hear crying ...?)
All the hope and glory (Looks like I shouldn't have shorted All the sacrifice in vain using my mortgage as collateral...)
If the love remains (Maybe they'll let me go short on margin Though everything is lost when it hits 400 on Monday....)
We will pay the price, (Hey! Wait! How'm I gonna daytrade But we will not count the cost if you repossess my comput... )
