>>has there ever been a consensus list of Gorillas and Kings? <<

Welcome to the thread, John. That is a fair question, but I must tell you that you will likely get different answers from different people. As you know from reading the thread there is ongoing discussion and disagreement. With that disclaimer in place, I think most of us here would agree that MSFT, INTC and CSCO are established gorillas. Most here would list QCOM as a young gorilla and several feel that GMST is on the cusp. ORCL and SAP are often accorded gorilla status and some have declared SEBL to be one.

JDSU is a popular king around here and several people follow ITWO, NTAP and EMC.

Some of us (or perhaps it is just me) see VISX as king-material, and others feel that way about CTRX, and I have noticed quite a few GGers over on the SNDK thread lately. Also popular of late are posts on CREE and WIND, but they are in earlier stages than some of the others I would think.

Frank has stated that he/we will revise the thread portfolios for next year, so we may be better able to gauge consensus as part of that process.
