eConnect Signs Abbas Daneshvari to Head theartauction.com
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 1999--eConnect welcomes Dr. Abbas Daneshvari as the Director of its Art Auction Division. Dr. Daneshvari, a Professor of Art History at California State University, Los Angeles, is the author of numerous books and articles on Contemporary and Islamic art. Among his many tasks at the art auction are to attract collections of art and rare books usually found at major auction houses such as Sotheby's and Christie's. He will also organize the site for gallery exhibitions of works by major artists as well as introduce works by new promising artists. Art auction will also provide a learning center with museum links and information resources on grants and endowments for artists and art historians. Dr. Daneshvari will also oversee the antique show of the art auction where experts in different art areas will identify and appraise works sent to the art auction for evaluations.
