John,

Welcome aboard, John.

<< has there ever been a consensus list of Gorillas and Kings? >>

The original (rather defunct) Gorilla Game thread lists Geoff's original (FM or First Manual) 'Gorilla' stocks

127.0.0.1:3456/SI/~wsapi/investor/Subject-19790

Interestingly enough there is a category of stocks listed (Information Security space) that really represents a basket of potential gorillas and the category as a whole has done poorly since the FM was published. My take is that these companies were stuck in the chasm and a few (in particular RSAS) are starting to perform. I spent several years doing DD on SDTI/RSAS and also had dead money in my investments therein before selling in February. I think this sector deserves another look and I plan to revisit it. Does anyone here have any insight or opinions about this sector and Geoff's original picks?

Check Point (CHKPF)
Cylink (CYLK)
Network Associates (NETA)**
Security Dynamics (SDTI) ***

** Merger of McAfee and Network General since book was written.
*** Renamed RSA Security Inc. (RSAS)
