Dr Irwin Jacobs, Chmn/CEO: QCOM

In a conversation with Suzy Asaad, QCOM CEO and Chairman Dr Irwin Jacobs discussed the appreciation in QCOM stock price
this year

QCOM shares have increased over 1000 percentage points this year

According to Jacobs, QCOM advances had not been recognized for many years and the reasons for the rise in its stocks are:

Announcement of sale of QCOM's subscriber division; reasonable earnings report; more activity in China; and, progress on data

Jacobs did not confirm whether NOK or MOT were in the bidding for QCOM's subscriber division

However, Jacobs did say that he was looking for a buyer with "significant ability to grow" the division, and capable of providing
good support to customers and employees

Dr Irwin Jacobs concluded by saying that data rate will see an increase by the end of next year, but that revenues will start to
build up only in 2001
