You know... you may be right... that seems just as appropriate....

It's an obvious references to the settlement of the lawsuit from ERICY's point of view....

and the part that goes

If the dream is won --
Though everything is lost

Is most likely a reference to ERICY's WCDMA being widely implemented, but using mostly Q technology/IPR... or better yet, ERICY buying the infrastructure division only to watch all the talent walk out the door shortly thereafter....

also, you could postulate that the "sound of the rain" is the static/interference experienced on a TDMA based system....

This is probably one of those Nostradamus-y things... Peart was sitting there in his study years ago... gazing into his crystal ball, seeing the Q future.. and all of the swirling images kept confusing themselves and intermeshing... so he just wrote it to cover all the bases...;-)
