Agreed. Guess by being defensive he figures he is shielding his players from what he feels might be undue criticism. Being ranked so highly hurt this team rather than helped. Not saying that they would not have two losses if they had be ranked lower, but the media beats the drum long and loud and sooner or later the players are liable to start believing all the hype. Teams that stay atop the rankings must deal with this factor successfully. PSU did not. Also thought it was the coaching that allowed Fox to be isolated. Could see an oversight on one maybe two plays, but it happened all afternoon, and worst of all in the most crucial situation. No adjustment was made to give him some help with the slot.
