You were smiling when you typed that sentence, I suspect. Am I right?
You are, though, by typing it in the window, proposing that Bush wasn't talking about gays, right?
You never did answer this query:
<<<I would be curious to have an example of how ambassadors might have historically done this dangerous thing, ie to "promote [their] sexual activities to influence policy." I would be curious to hear of one example in the history of the United States of American where an ambassador to a foreign country has ever done that. Have you ever heard of a single one? If you have, do tell me how it was done!
...Just an example of ANY U.S. ambassador to a foreign country, man or woman, who "promoted [his or her] sexual activities to influence policy."
Heck, don't just stick to U.S. ambassadors, choose from among all ambassadors, male or female, from all nations of the world to all others nations, in all periods of history, and show me how one of them "promoted his or her sexual activities to influence policy." >>>
I think the comedy of the question itself kind of indicates that the conservative Christians who left their interview with Bush happy got what they were looking for, not a generic reassurance about sexy ambassadors and their effect on foreign policy, but a statement that (as they reported) Bush would not knowingly appoint a homosexual as a dept head or ambassador. |
