Jason, Forgive me for hurting your feelings by not remembering you. . .not my intent. As for long portfolios. . .if you don't have a long portfolio that you do not trade, then any financial advisor would say you were making a big mistake. Too much of your money available for you to make your own trades is asking for major trouble. Everyone should have a long portfolio that they do not trade. . . this is where we place our core positions.

Certainly you have heard of "trading accounts". . . this is where we move in and out of positions to both enhance and protect our core positions. . .as well as place our swing trades, etc.

Now. . .you called my publicly posted portfolios "mythical". That is a personal attack at my character, to which I am greatly offended. My portfolios were made public on the days they state. . .look at the archives and you will see the posts which discuss them. Ask those that have been here since December 1, 1998 about the portfolios. . . there names appear on this thread. . .look them up. . . . "Mythical?"
You are losing it.

I will continue to post my long portfolios for several reasons. . .first of all. . . you will be hard pressed to find a mutual fund that will outperform them. . . second, there is an enormous wealth of knowledge to be gained by studying them, as many contain 10 baggers and more. . .third, I have yet to see ANYONE ANYWHERE post their portfolios publicly that have better returns. Now what was the problem you have with my portfolios again? Really!

On the "new around here" comment. . .anyone that would see a stock like OMKT up at a double in 5 days would be looking for an exit door . . on at least a portion of their shares. . .especially in the current market, which is looking to form a top. . . must be a newbie!!

If I had to enter OMKT today. . .it would not be on the long side. So again I ask you. . . would you recommend OMKT as a long here?

Do you think the 1000+ predictions/calls I have made here over the past year have been easy? I put my reputation on the line with each and every prediction and each and every call. Today I predicted ATHM would break resistance. What happens if it doesn't?

Do you have any idea the number of investors that rely on my honesty and candor? I get maybe an hour or two to try to answer 50 to 100 email and PM questions each day. . .I am sorry to everyone that I can only ever answer a fraction of them.

Then today I must stop my research and trading and write messages like this one to rub over a bruised ego. There are many thousands that read this thread and write me. . .and contrary to popular belief, I do have a life beyond stocks. . . .and the day that stocks cease being fun. . . is when I keep my trading to myself. . . .

As far as looking back at your posts. . .there are well over 15,000 posts here. . . and we are all grateful for your contributions to the thread. . .as we are everyone's contributions. I remember you now. . .I got in big trouble for not recognizing your pick of IDTC. . . and a friend of yours demanded that I recognize you publicly. What was that about?

It sounds, by the tone of your post, that you have graduated from this thread and are ready to become a momentum guru. May I suggest you start a thread of your own here on SI, where you can post all those great picks of yours. Perhaps then you will see how difficult a job it is to be relied upon everyday for your accuracy and honesty. . . and one bad call and your head is handed back to you on a styrofoam platter.

Then there is the family issue. Do 3 or 4 hours of research each day 7 days a week for a year, on top of your trading hours, posting, answering email and answering letters like these. See what it takes out of you AND takes away from your family.

Very soon, I will have been here each and every day doing the very same thing for one full year. And in that year, I have not made a single nickle from those that have benefitted from my posts. And never once have I sold into the buying generated by my posts! And I won't even go into the countless dirty work that must go on behind the scenes.

Do it! Start a thread. You obviously have the talent.

What do you have to lose?
