It used to be that Friday timing of news was considered negative, an attempt to slip out less-than-stellar results while attracting the least attention. But i wonder if that applies in our changed information environment. Now we've all got computers, or neighbours with computers, we keep a lot more up to date ... and many of us have more time to study stuff on weekends than during the week.

So i wonder if it matters at all any more. Last year at this time i was playing Winspear mostly - the great majority of their news came out just after the close Friday, and it was mostly quite good news. Obviously they had no reason to bury it. And there is a logic to it from the company's viewpoint - the news is more likely to be generated and written during the working week, while keeping it quiet until Monday could be difficult and, nowadays, unnecessary.

But i still like Tuesdays ... gives me a day to recuperate from the weekend -g-
