Company Press Release

Interphase and Mercury Computer Systems
Demonstrate Fibre Channel File Transfer Application
for Storage Area Networks

-- SAN Solution Illustrates Sharing Enterprise Data Across Diverse
Computing Platforms --

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 17, 1999-- Interphase Corporation (NASDAQ:INPH - news), an international
supplier of enterprise networking technologies, and Mercury Computer Systems (NASDAQ: MRCY - news) have partnered
to demonstrate the benefits of file sharing across heterogeneous environments within a Fibre Channel-based Storage Area
Network (SAN). The demonstration, taking place at the Comdex tradeshow this week, features Mercury's patented
SANergy(TM) file-sharing technology and Interphase PowerSAN(TM) Fibre Channel adapters in a SAN topology.

The ability to seamlessly access and share storage files across multiple platforms is important because large enterprise networks
are typically comprised of diverse computing systems utilizing more than one operating environment. The collaborative
demonstration from Interphase and Mercury illustrates fast and efficient data sharing across different system environments in a
Fibre Channel SAN. As a result, network managers can see how to cost-effectively insure that network users can share data
without the file system corruption and performance degradation problems that can plague multi-system network
implementations.

''Network managers today are faced with the daunting task of supporting enormous growth in storage network traffic,'' said
Roger Woolley, Interphase Senior Director of Global Marketing. ''We're pleased to partner with companies like Mercury to
illustrate how network managers can build high performance Fibre Channel SAN solutions to dramatically improve storage
throughput across their enterprise while preserving their current investment in existing equipment.''

Interphase 64-bit PowerSAN adapters provide industry-leading performance scalability for enterprise-class applications. The
PowerSAN architecture features an efficient state machine processor that eliminates the ''performance bottleneck'' that can
occur in some competitive designs when implemented in high-end demanding environments. PowerSAN adapters include other
features important for enterprise SAN environments such as simultaneous support for both SCSI and IP protocol traffic,
multi-gigabit connectivity options, and Java-based HBA SAN management.

The patented file-sharing technology in SANergy enables business IT organizations to capitalize on the efficiencies of SANs by
sharing centralized storage across multiple systems efficiently and reliably. For the large community of UNIX-based IT
computing environments, SANergy software enables true storage sharing and/or file sharing without the expense of proprietary
storage arrays or file servers, and without sacrificing performance. As a result, applications running on multiple operating
systems such as Solaris, AIX, and IRIX can share storage data easily and transparently. Additional information can be found at
