Sorry, I'll clarify.
Creationism, when taught as science is a crackpot theory. Evolution is not about unsurping the powers of God, it's just a model used to explain empirical data. If you want to learn the truth about evolution, check out that web site I posted earlier.
You appear to interptrete the Bible in a different manner than I feel comfortable with. That's OK, but I'm not at all comfortable with a literalist/inerrent approach.
You wish to convince me that that is the best path, but logically, it is a house of cards -- one needs only one counter example to invalidate it.
For example, checkout Matthew 27:8. Where in Jeremiah does it talk about the potter's field? Nowhere. Jeremiah 32:6-9 clearly describes a different field. Matthew misquoted the OT! He should have quoted Zechariah 11 instead. I have discussed this with several pastors who agreed with this conclusion. This example completely undermines the assumptions needed for having confidence in literal inerrency / self consistency which is required for your Genesis interpretation.
I choose to worship God, not the Bible. Absolute literal inerency looks like Bible-idolatry to me.
Sorry, I know this will just make you angry at me. |
