Chris, you got two good answers on why it is advisable to have just one account. On the other hand, although reliability has improved over the last year or two, outages do still occur. This obviously effects those trying to trade on-line but also effects those who use the phones as the phone lines get tied up when the online systems go down.
Having a second account may, in some circumstances, be beneficial as you have a fall-back in case something goes wrong with your primary account.
