Yeah I read that.

Obviously there is no way that US oil companies can
guarantee that every part of their operations are not
vulnerable to Y2K disruptions. Too many factors reside
outside of their direct control.

My point is that those outside factors, namely the OPEC countries oil production facilities can be run manually if
necessary.

Of course there is a possibility that a series of unforeseen
events occur which set off a chain reaction effecting
world oil supply.
But I believe it would shortlived and definitely a worst case scenario.

Of course anything is possible <G>
