Electric cars are interesting...

Everyone has heard of GM's EV-1 electric car...been around a few years. People leasing them seem to like them....some want to buy them but GM says no.

They were using lead acid batteries...I think they just switched to Nickel Metal Hydrid.
As normal...the car industry is a little slow in changing.
Much better battery technology available and better stuff coming...

Anyway....I think a small SOFC running on gasoline in this car would be possible.
It would run on battery until the SOFC was warmed up.

Toyota's hybrid runs on battery to 30mph...before the engine kicks in. If you stay under 30mph for to long the engine will come on to charge the battery.
A SOFC can do this. I can't believe some car makers are not considering it.

Would anyone here have a rough idea the size of SOFC needed for todays hybrid's.....Isn't the planned APU about 15kw in power? Is this enough.? Bigger?
