I will beg out of Harcourt as I need the liquidity for other punts (i.e. support my put sale on Visio).

I sold massive puts on Visio a few days ago (they are being bought by Microsoft with 0.45 MSFT shares for each Visio share) and Visio stock price is still at 8% discount to MSFT share price. The puts gives me an additional 10% discount if I end up being putted with Visio shares. The discount will close when the buyout. This is my first attempt at arbitraging. I am suspicious of my math and logic (not really) and am fascinated at the inefficiencies of the market. If things work out this time I am will increase my bravery level next time.

I am not so concerned with the Japan tint of 9984 as (1) they can do their thing via Founder (418 in HK market) and (2) they can play up the Chinese ancestry of Son (ancestors migrated to Korea, then parents migrated to Japan) and (3) expect many youth (i-net users) to worship the man. Aquino played up her ancestry while in China and that put Philippines on the map with the Chinese nationals. China keeps a memory longer than one generation and tends to deal realistically with genuine apologies.

Eventually I expect Japanese politicians to offer a sincere apology and compensation ala the Germans and all past will be buried.
