The Cipro is mighty good stuff ... it doesn't get much better than that. I'm worried and sorry to hear about bone infection - that calls for aggressive treatment.
About glucosamine and chondroitin ... imo these are foods. Nutritional supplements. They certainly can't hurt. (You need to understand that my prejudice comes into play here ... I work for a prescription drug co) But I think it's ok to wait with them until the serious emergency-type healing has been done and we're on the rehab phase.
You have my best wishes re beating the infection. I'm glad the docs are on top of it. Perhaps the best nutritional supplement is reeeeeally fresh horsemeat. (Don't pass that one on.)

Here's a little lite reading on Cipro ... bone infections are a specific indication. That's good.
