Malarky story is right. (need to look it up to make sure: ma·lar·key also ma·lar·ky (m-lärk). n. Slang Exaggerated or foolish talk, usually intended to deceive: “snookered by a lot of malarkey” (New Republic).)

I guess some of the unlucky shorts in the low teens may have been snookered. But I like to think most did their thing in the 20s or even 30s; more power to them.
