It's an INCREDIBLE story. Croc-- and I'm being very serious here--- see? look me in the eyes- this is my sincere look. You MUST START PRINTING AND KEEPING THESE STORIES!! TRUST ME ON THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (is that enough exclamation points?) Just keep them in some sort of folder, and then start looking for a paper to send them to. That's what I did. And damned if they didn't print some! Yesterday I sent an e-mail to my editor and asked if he wanted to see a column on turkeys and he wrote back- "Send it on. I'm game!" I know he was just so tickled at himself - I sent the column with a note- The Thanksgiving Turkey- a Meaty Topic. You are an excellent writer. And very funny and human--- practice on us, but start thinking about sending these wonderful little gems off!!
